Join Me in the #the100dayproject Challenge!

Hello, makers! Today, I'm thrilled to share that I'm diving into the #the100dayproject challenge on Instagram, and I invite you all to join me on this creative journey. This challenge couldn't come at a better time, especially since we're already amid the #finishthefunk2024 make-along. If you're not familiar, #finishthefunk2024 is all about dusting off those languishing works in progress and giving them the attention they deserve, whether it's knitting, quilting, painting, sewing, embroidery, spinning, or any other crafty endeavor. In the make along I am focusing on Knitting and Quilting WIP’s.

For me, this challenge is a perfect complement to the make-along. It's a chance to dedicate just a few minutes each day to two hobbies that have been on the back burner for far too long: spinning yarn and creating pastel paintings. These activities bring joy and help me stay connected to my creative side. The fact that I haven’t made time for them is actually having a negative effect on my life. So enough is enough! Time to work them back into my life and a regular basis.

By committing to spinning or painting for 10 to 15 minutes a day, I hope to improve my skills and carve out a little oasis of creativity in my busy schedule. I'm excited to see where these daily practices will take me, and I invite you to join me on this adventure. I will be sharing tips and tricks to help you stay on point as well and keeping you in the loop on what I am working on and how things are coming along.

Exploring Creative Freedom

Now, you might be wondering, "Do I have to tackle two things like Nicole?" Absolutely not! I just couldn't decide between the two—lol. I've had this spinning project on my wheel for about a year now, and I'm eager to see it completed and improve my spinning skills. At the same time, I've been longing to practice my soft pastel skills, diving into fine art. So, I decided to go for both. While there might be days when I can work on both spinning and painting, most likely, I'll only tackle one—and that's totally fine!

As for you, do you have to work on projects you've already started? Or can you start something entirely new? There are no rules here! Maybe you want to learn a new technique, craft, or a new piece of music. You have super flexibility. The main goal is to spend 100 days focused on something that helps you grow and be more creative.

Funny…. I might have had a third ambition: to improve my drumming skills. Unfortunately, my drum set is in the garage, and with the current chilly weather, I know I'll lack the motivation to go out there in the mornings, which is the best time for me to practice. However, if you're a musician or aspiring musician, dusting off your violin or playing the piano that's been sitting untouched for years could be a fantastic way to reignite your passion and creativity, and to build upon your skills.

Are you thinking about joining #the100dayproject? I'd love to hear from you! In the comments below, share what craft or project you'll be working on during the challenge. Let's inspire each other and make these 100 days truly special!
